This is a receiver only. It will have a separate dish positioner. The dish positioner will have to be programmed to move to the satellite, but the Echostar 310 needs to be programmed for the polarity.

HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Press TUNING SELECT to bring up the polarity tuning on the screen. The word POLARITY should be displayed near the bottom of the screen. If the polarity tuning mode does not come up: CHANGE FEEDTYPE

2. Press SAT then the satellite name your looking for. (EX: SAT S 4).

3. Press STORE with a pointed instrument. STORE is a recessed button. If it displays "Store Disabled". ENABLE STORE BUTTON

4. After pressing STORE, the screen may display "setting polarity". After that goes off the screen or if it does not come up, the satellite should be stored. Press CANCEL to exit the Polarity tuning mode and then hit VIEW to verify that it stored it correctly. If the picture is gone, press tuning select to bring up the polarity tuning again and use the left or right arrow to adjust the picture back in. Before pressing STORE again, turn off the auto tuning. DISABLE THE AUTO TUNING

5. Press STORE to save the polarity.

How to Unlock the Tuning Modes

1. Enter the Custom Features menu:

Remote Controls with a menu button - Press MENU 6 3

Remote Controls without a menu button - Press 6 3

If neither of these works - Look for XF, CF, CUSTOM or EXTRA FEATURES and press it.

2. Press the number that corresponds with the Installation option.

3. If the screen displays "Enter the New Installation Password", just press ENTER, then you may have to ENTER again to verify.

4. If the screen displays "Enter the Installation Password", you may try ENTER. If the screen displays "Invalid Password", press CANCEL to return to the Custom Features menu and then try the password for the correct receiver.

*If the E310 is in LNBF mode, Press 80, A menu of 2 or 3 items will appear. Select the last option. XF will then be accessible. When Finished press 80, then 1.

5. After getting into the Installation menu, press 2 to enable or disable the store button. Keep hitting CANCEL until you are out if the menus.

Both of them need to be enabled for the tuning options and the store button to work.

Press the line number to toggle between the two options.

How to change the Feedtype

6. Read line number 1, which may display Feed Type or C-Band. With each different receiver and dish there may be many options to select from on line 1. To change the option on line 1, press 1 until it displays one of the following on line 1:

-single; single c-ku; single c, dual c, LNBF

7. Read the instructions at the bottom of the screen. If it instructs to press ENTER then do so, otherwise, press CANCEL to exit the menus.

8. This should allow the POLARITY tuning option to come up now.

How to Unlock the Polarity Auto Tuning Options

To enter the Custom Features menu:

1. Press the XF, CF, CUSTOM or EXTRA FEATURES.

If this does not work, press 6 3.

2. Press 1 for Installation.

3. If the screen displays "Enter the NEW Installation Password", just press ENTER, then you may have to ENTER again to verify.

If the screen displays "Enter the Installation Password", press 8 4 7 2, then ENTER.

4. The Installation menu should be on the screen, press 1 for System Setup.

5. The System Setup menu should be on the screen, press 5 for Auto Polarity. It should toggle between on and off every time you press 4. Make sure that it is "off".

6. Read the instructions at the bottom of the screen. If it instructs you to press ENTER then do so, otherwise, press CANCEL to exit the menus.
