HOW TO PROGRAM A satellite

1. Make sure that the satellite that you are programming is not already stored in memory.

-To do this, press SAT and use left/ right arrowS below SAT to scroll through all the names stored. If the name is stored and needs to be programmed, then it must be erased before it can be stored again. See How to erase a satellite section.

2. Go to a satellite that is next to or near to the satellite to be programmed.

3. Select a channel that is active on the satellite that is to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from.

4. Hold LOCK located on the front of the receiver until the lock light goes off.

5. Follow the proper procedure:

-If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then tap EAST or WEST until a different picture or black screen appears.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then tap east or west until the picture is gone, then press V/H on the receiver one time to reverse the format. A picture should appear, if one does not then continue moving east or west until a picture or black screen does appear.

6. Verify that the picture is correct. If it is, then go to step 7. Otherwise, continue moving east or west until the correct satellite is found.

7. To store the satellite, press TYPE on the receiver until the desired letter for the satellite to be programmed appears. Next press NO on the receiver until the desired number for the satellite to be programmed appears.

8. After getting the correct name, press MEMORY one time. The name should blink a few times then stop. If this step does not work, then see the Possible Storing Problems section.

9. Press LOCK on the receiver once and the lock light should come on. If this step does not work, then see the Possible Lock Button Problems section.

10. This completes the process.

POSSIBLE STORING PROBLEMS

The name disappears after pressing MEMORY

-Verify the lock button is off.

-Do steps 7 and 8 again to make sure you don’t wait too long to press memory.

-If it still is not working the memory may be full, (*4 will appear if the memory is full). Press LOCK and make sure the light comes back on. If the lock light will not come on then see the Possible Lock Button Problems section. Otherwise, erase an unused satellite and start over. Go to the Erase A Satellite section.

The name continues to blink

You probably held memory down too long and stored it and then erased it. Do steps 7 and 8 again and making sure that you press the memory button one time.

POSSIBLE LOCK BUTTON PROBLEMS

The correct satellite name disappears and the lock is on.

Hold LOCK down to turn the lock off and return to step 7 and name it again (making sure to go by the letter and number once and stopping on it the second time). If it continues to disappear after trying step 7 again, turn lock on and start over making sure it is not already stored (if so, a *4 should appear here also after pressing memory).

If you cannot get the lock light to come on

Do step 7 again using another name (ex: Z5, B4, X1), then press LOCK. You can either start over and try to program it again using the correct name or you can use the name you just entered if they do not care. If you start over, make sure that it does need to be erased.

HOW TO ERASE A SATELLITE

1. Make sure the lock light is on, if it is not press LOCK.

2. Move to the satellite that needs to be erased.

3. Press and hold LOCK until the lock light goes out to turn the lock off.

4. Press and hold MEMORY until the name starts blinking or the name disappears.

5. Press LOCK to turn the lock on. If the lock light will not come back on then return to step 7 and continue to program the satellite from where it is at.
