President 500 Satellite Receiver This receiver features up to 20 programmable favorite channels, on-screen menus, C/Ku-Band compatible, built-in LNBF switching, video output, left/right audio outputs, UHF remote and internal TI filter. LEGEND Blue = Buttons on Remote or Receiver 1. Go to a satellite that is next to or near to the satellite to be programmed. 2. Select a channel that is active on the satellite that is to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from. 3. Press and hold MENU. The Main Menu will be displayed and then will change to the Installation Menu. Press 1 for Program Satellites. The Satellite Store menu will be displayed on the screen. (See below.) --------------------------------------------- SATELLITE STORE --------------------------------------------- *NOTE* This is a list of the pre-programmed satellites. The satellites that are stored have a square to the left of the abbreviation. You can use any of the names as long as you do not use them to watch programming. 4. Select a satellite name to program by using the left (east) or right (west) arrows to switch pages to get a different list of satellites. To select a satellite on the current page, use the channel up or down button to move the arrow beside the name. Make sure it is a satellite name that you do not watch. Remember that the satellite name can have a square beside it as long as the satellite is not used. If you cannot find an abbreviation that will work then, press CANCEL, MENU and then VIEW and go to Alternate Procedure Section. 5. After finding a satellite name that you can use, press CALL. If the name has a square beside it, then it is going to display; "Warning, Satellite Already Programmed", "Do You Want To Reprogram?" Press ENTER to override this warning. 6. The programming screen will be displayed now. It will have the name of the satellite and channel along with skew, polarity, dish at ____, etc. on the screen with the picture behind the writing. 7. Follow the proper procedure:
*Possible Problem* If you picking up the satellites with the opposite polarity. Press POL to reverse it back and continue moving in the correct direction. 8. When you have correct picture, press ENTER to save the satellite. Press MENU, then VIEW to exit the menus. 9. Check to make sure that the correct satellite name is at the top of the screen when you press VIEW. If it is not, then you may have to try to program it again. 10. This completes the programming process.
Alternate Programming Procedure (This procedure is the same as the first one except it allows you to enter a custom satellite name.) 1. Press and hold MENU. The Main Menu will be displayed and then will change to the Installation Menu. 2. Press 4 for Add/Update Satellite. The Add/Update Satellite Store will be displayed on the screen. (See below). **Sometimes this menu will blank off the screen fast. You have to be fast about enter the satellite name.** --------------------------------------------- ADD/UPDATE SATELLITE --------------------------------------------- 3. Press 1. Use the EAST/WEST arrows to change the name on line 1 to C-Spare or to a satellite name that is not used. 4. Press SETUP, then press 2. The first letter will blink on line 2. 5. Use the channel up/down to change the first letter to the appropriate letter for the satellite abbreviation. 6. Use west to move the cursor over to the number and it will begin to blink. Use channel up/down to change the number to the appropriate number for the satellite abbreviation 7. Press ENTER and then MENU 8. Return to and follow the main program instructions.
