HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Make sure that the satellite that you are programming is not already stored in memory.

-To do this, press NEXT SAT and use EAST or WEST to scroll through all the names stored. If the name is stored and it does not come in correctly, then it must be erased before it can be stored again. ERASE A SATELLITE

2. Go to a satellite that is next to or near to the satellite to be programmed.

3. Select a channel that is active on the satellite that is to be programmed and on the satellite that you are starting from.

4. On the front of the receiver: Hold LOCK until the light above the button goes off.

If the lock light will not go off, see PARENTAL SUPERVISION

5. Follow the proper procedure:

-If you are starting from a satellite with the same format, then tap EAST or WEST until a different picture or black screen appears.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, then tap east or west until the picture is gone, then press polarity on the receiver one time. A picture should appear, if not continue moving east or west until a picture or black screen appears.

6. Verify that the picture is correct. If it is, then go to step 7. Otherwise, continue moving east or west until the correct satellite is found.

7. Press ALPHA on the receiver until the desired letter for the satellite to be programmed appears and then go through the alphabet to the letter again. Press NUM on the receiver until the desired number for the satellite to be programmed appears and then go around to the number again.

8. After getting the correct name, press STORE one time. The name should blink twice then stop.

9. Press LOCK and turn the lock on.

**Possible Problems**

(# 1) A * 4 appears on the display after pressing the store button. This means the memory is full or that specific satellite name already exists. This satellite name or another satellite name needs to be erased. Press LOCK and turn the lock on, then ERASE A SATELLITE and start over. If the lock will not come on, then see possible problem # 3

(# 2) The satellite name disappears when the lock comes on. Hold LOCK down to turn the lock off and return to step 7 and name it again (making sure to go past the letter and number once and stopping on it the second time around). If it continues to disappear after trying step 7, turn the lock light back on and start over.

(# 3) Lock will not come on. This is a result of it being off a satellite and there is not a satellite stored in that position. If a *4 is not appearing and the name will not store then move east or west to return to the position that you started from. Hint: The satellite name will quit blinking when you are back where you started. Press LOCK to turn on the lock.

HOW TO ERASE A SATELLITE

1. With the lock on, move to the satellite to be erased.

2. Hold down the LOCK button on the receiver until the lock light above the button goes out. If the lock light will not go off, then the parental supervision needs to be turned off.

PARENTAL SUPERVISION

3. Press and hold the STORE and ALPHA at the same time until the satellite name disappears and two dashes appear in its place.

-If the name blinks twice then hit STORE before hitting ALPHA. Try again until it works.

-If the letter changes then hit ALPHA before you hit STORE.

Hit ALPHA until the correct letter comes up and then try again.

4. After the name disappears and the dashes appear, press the LOCK to turn the lock light back on.

HOW TO TURN OFF THE PARENTAL SUPERVISION

**NOTE** IF THERE IS A PARENTAL SUPERVISION ON ANY CHANNEL ON ANY SATELLITE THE LOCK LIGHT WILL NOT GO OFF.

1. To detect if a channel is locked out - First of all, it will skip the channel when using channel up/down. After selecting the channel by direct access (EX. Pressing 11 for channel eleven), it will have a dot beside the channel number on the receiver in the bottom right corner and the screen will be black.

EXAMPLE:

11

 2. Press and hold PS on the remote for (3) three seconds until the channel display blinks once and the dot disappears and a picture should appear.

3. This has to be done to all the channels that have a PS lock on them.
