1. If the satellite to be programmed is already stored in the wrong position,
then it must be erased before it can be programmed. ERASING
A SATELLITE
2. Start on a satellite next to or near the satellite that is being
programmed.
3. Press TUNING or TUNING
SELECT to bring up the dish tuning on the screen. The word DISH should be
displayed near the bottom of the screen. If dish does not come up, UNLOCK
THE TUNING MODE. After turning the locks off and DISH
still will not come up, turn off the parental locks. PARENTAL

A SATELLITE. The receiver will change channels from what it was on.
Go to an active channel on both the satellite you are starting from and the
satellite you are programming with the channel up or down button. If you are
starting from a satellite with the same format you should still have a
picture on the satellite that you are on, if the satellite has an opposite
format there will not be a picture. It will also have the name of the satellite
that you are programming on the screen. If this step does not work, try the
ALTERNATE METHOD.
5. Start tapping left arrow (East) or right
arrow (West) to move the dish toward the satellite you are looking for.
Stop when you see either a picture or a clear black screen, check to see what
satellite they are on. If the picture is the correct satellite, then proceed to
step 6. If it is the wrong satellite, then continue to move and if it is moving
the wrong direction, go the other way until desired picture is found. If you
can’t find a picture, the correct picture or a clear black screen, try the
ALTERNATE METHOD.
6. If all the above steps worked correctly, you should be on the correct
channel you were looking for and it should say "Not on Satellite" at
the top of the screen. It may have another satellite name at the top, if it does
that’s OK as long as you have the correct picture. It also still should have
the name of the satellite you are looking for on the screen.
7. Press STORE on the remote control with a
sharp instrument. STORE is a hole with a button in
it or a recessed button. After pressing store the
screen may display "Setting Polarity" and then "Setting
Dish". After that goes off the screen or if it does not come up, the
satellite should be stored. Press CANCEL to exit
the dish tuning mode and then hit VIEW to verify
that it stored it.
-If it still says "Not on Satellite" or the incorrect name is still
on the screen, proceed from step 6 again.
-If it auto tunes to a different satellite, then you must erase the satellite
you just stored and then attempt to find and store the satellite again. First,
you need to erase the satellite. ERASING

Programming Instructions for 2nd Alternate Method
*This procedure will only work if there are satellites already programmed
correctly near the satellite that is to be programmed in. Check a few satellites
to see if they are correct before proceeding. If they are not, then this method
will not work.
1. Go to a satellite next to or near the one to be programmed, verify that
you are getting the correct channels. Press TUNING or
TUNING SELECT until the DISH tuning mode is
displayed on the screen. Write down the dish position number (usually a
four-digit number). Then go to a satellite next to/or near to the one to be
programmed on the opposite side if possible, verify they are getting the correct
channels. Write down the dish position for this one also.
2. Now, use a satellite guide to get the degrees of each satellite
-If the satellite to be programmed is the same distance from both
satellites (or centered between them) then take the two dish positions that you
wrote down and add them together then divide the sum by two. This should give
you the dish position for the satellite to be programmed.
EXAMPLE:
F3 (131 deg) G1 (133 deg) F4 (135 deg).
1020 ? 1000
since G1 is 2 degrees west of F3 and 2 degrees east of F4
then 1020 + 1000 = 2020 / 2 = 1010
then the dish position for G1 should be 1010
-If the satellite to be programmed is not the same distance from the
two satellites. Take the two dish positions and use the formula below to
calculate the dish position for the satellite to be programmed.
EXAMPLE:
G5 (125O) F3 (131O) G1 (133O)
1082 ? 1050
A) Subtract the two dish positions
1082 - 1050 = 32 dish counts
B) Subtract the degrees of the two satellites you got the dish positions for
133O - 125O = 8O
C) Divide the difference of the dish positions by the difference of
the degrees
32 dish counts / 8O = 4 dish counts per every 1O
(This gives you the number of dish counts the dish moves for every degree
between the satellites.)
D) Subtract the degrees between the satellite to be programmed and the
closest satellite
133O - 131 O = 2O
E) Multiply (D) by (C)
2O * 4 = 8 dish counts away from the closest satellite
F) Add or subtract (the answer of E) to the dish position of the closest
satellite, so
that it falls in the correct order.
1050 + 8 = 1058
G) 1058 should be the dish position of F3
3. After calculating the dish position, press TUNING OR
TUNING SELECT to make sure it is in the DISH
mode. Use right arrow or left
arrow and move to the dish position that you calculated.
4. Return to step 4 in the Alternate
method of programming.
