Program a Satellite Installation Password

The 350i Super features extensive on screen displays, optional UHF remote, up to 50 C/Ku-Band programmable satellite (external C/Ku switch required) and digital audio sound.

LEGEND

Blue = Buttons on Remote or Receiver

This remote control has a MENU button in the top right corner. There are up/down arrows and left/right arrows in a circle in center of the remote.

*If this does not appear to be the remote that you have then you may have a

GI 350 regular.

HOW TO PROGRAM A SATELLITE

1. Go to a satellite that is next to or near the satellite to be programmed.

2. Select a channel that is active on the satellite that is to be programmed and on the satellite you are starting from.

3. Press the MENU, this will display the Main Menu.

4. Press 2 for Program Position. If it prompts to enter a password, go to the password section.

5. The Program Position menu should be on the screen (see below). If the format on line number 3 is normal or reverse and make a note of it.

1 SAT : G5
2 BAND : C
3 FORMAT : NORMAL/reverse
4 SKEW : H+30 V-60
5® POSITION : 5390
6. SCAN : OFF/on
USE 1-6, ­ , ¯ , ¬ , ® , AND
ENTER TO STORE

6. Press 1 and the first letter of the satellite name will start blinking. Use up arrow or down arrow to change the letter to the correct letter for the satellite that is being programmed.

7. Press the right arrow one time and the number in the satellite name will start blinking. Use the up or down arrow to change the number to the correct number for the satellite in which you are programming.

8. After getting the correct satellite name on line 1, verify that line number 2 displays

"BAND : C". If it does not then press 2 and make sure an arrow appears beside the number 2. Next, tap the up arrow until it is correct.

9. Next, follow one of these requirements:

-If you are starting from a satellite with same format, line number 3 needs to be the same as before and there should be a picture behind the menu also.

-If you are starting from a satellite with the opposite format, line number 3 needs to be opposite as before and there should be a snowy or blue screen behind the menu.

-If the format is not correct, then press 3 and then tap the up arrow one time to get the correct format.

10. If step 9 is not working properly, verify that line 2 is still "Band: C" and that it is still on an active channel. If it is, then press VIEW and start over.

11. Once all the above steps are correct press 5 for position, this will display an arrow beside line number 5. Start tapping the left (east) or right (west) arrow in the direction of the satellite to be programmed. Stop tapping when a different picture or a black screen comes in. If it is on the correct satellite, then go to step 12. If you cannot determine if it is correct satellite while the menu is on the screen, go to step 12 anyway. **NOTE** Make sure that it is not going in the opposite direction, if so then try the other direction.

12. Press ENTER, it will display "Data Saved, Press Cancel". Press VIEW or CANCEL.

13. Verify that the picture is correct. If it is correct then you can end the call. If it is not correct, then do steps 3, 4 and 11 again until it is correct.

 

 ENTERING THE INSTALLATION PASSWORD

1. If it displays "Enter the NEW installation password", press the ENTER and you may need to press ENTER again to verify. It should display "Password cleared, Press cancel", press the CANCEL or wait about 5 seconds and it should display the Program Postion menu.

2. If it displays "Enter the installation password", Press 92121. After doing this there will be 5 stars or asterisks on the screen. Press ENTER, it should display the Program Position Menu.

*TIP* Sometimes you may have a problem with this procedure. What usually happens is you either hit the wrong buttons or hold the buttons are held down too long and it will give you extra numbers for the password. If this happens, press ENTER or CANCEL and try this step again. Once the password is entered correctly it will display the Program Position menu.
